Review of the even more recent Hobbit movie: the Desolation of Smaug

Last night, I went to see the recent Hobbit movie, The Desolation of Smaug. Let me talk about this for a minute.

Okay, since all of you probably have guessed from my earlier review: I am a Tolkienite, who grew up with the Hobbit ingrained within my brain. I taught myself to read on this book. I love it. And no matter what ill befalls the franchise, I know I will be going to see the last Hobbit movie in costume once again. I just love hobbits. That’s it. And because I love hobbits, I’ll try to be as straightforward and blunt about this movie as I can. Your home is behind you Bilbo, spoilers are ahead. Skip down to my opinion if you don’t want a detailed recount of the movie for unsure Tolkien fans.
